Greetings,
Can anyone give me advice on how to test or troubleshoot a non-working, factory tachometer for a 65 SS? (Small block- not that it matters).
I am interested in the continuity tests, ohm's tests or anything that will point me in the right direction to repair this thing.
I have already tried it on several different period correct cars and it of course will not produce any movement from the needle.
I am pretty good with test equipment and schematics, but have not found any place that's willing to part with the test procedures.
Thanks !

I've checked my 64 Impala shop manual and haven't come up with anything. Sad to say, but the tach doesn't even show up on the schematics either.
If you know any old timers that used to work on TV's and radios back in the day, I'll bet they can figure it out. Try looking for some TV repair shops. It's a stretch but you never know.
