Hi
I am restoring a 64 SS and when I got the car it had an engine (chevy 350) and the original 2-speed powerglide. None hooked up, just sitting in the car. I am at the point where I am now dealing with the tranny and have no clue if I need kick down linkage and how many vacuum lines go to it and where. I really need some help here as I've never worked with a powerglide.
Thanks
Steven

Hi Steven,
Yes you need the kickdown. On this car it would have been mechanical with a fulrum/lever mechanism mounted ont the top 2 bell housing bolts on the drivers side of the transmission. It acts as a throttle pressure as well.
The Vacuum line you need should come directly off the intake manifold and runs down the pasenger side of the transmission to the modulator valve at the back of the transmission near the transmission mount.
