64 Impala seat springs

I answered a Craigslist ad and the guy selling them has a classic car and muscle car restoration shop in California. They were left over from a project he did last year and they were sitting in the corner gathering dust. He only wanted a bit more than 1/2 of the price new, so it was a smoking deal.

I wasn’t planning on getting new springs, but for the price I couldn’t turn ’em down.

This is just the most recent deal I’ve found. I’ve spent about $3000 in the last 2 years on chevy restoration parts and I’ve only paid full price for one thing,… a side view mirror I picked up last year at Spring Carlisle.

So, now I have 2 sets of 64 Impala bucket seats. I’ll do a how to video on restoring one set the old fashioned way, by replacing individual zig-zag springs and the other set by replacing the springs with this set of new seat springs.

Look for that later this year.

You can find a lot of chevy restoration parts online for a good price. Over the last couple of years I’ve picked up a lot of new chevy restoration parts just like these 64 Impala bucket seat springs.

The trick is knowing how to find them without spending a week of your evenings online searching for them.

If you signup for the Impala Project newsletter you’ll get a series of articles over the next few weeks. The last one in the 7 week series will explain how I pulled it off in only an hour on every other Monday morning.

Spring is right around the corner and people start getting rid of excess parts laying around their garage, basement or shop.

In my experience it will start soon, around the middle to end of April.

No time to lose, so save your parts money.
