I got my 64 Impala front disc brake conversion kit today. As soon as the weather improves and I can take the 64 Ghia vert out of the garage, I’ll have room to get started.
This disc brake conversion kit is pretty simple. I got it from http://www.scarebird.com . They have a beta program I’m participating in where I get a copy of the prototypes to install on my 64 Impala for testing.
The kit is pretty simple. They send you the instructions, new backing plates cut out of heavy steel plate, and a list of the parts you should use to complete the setup. It makes use of factory original GM parts so I would use the master cylinder, caliper, hoses and other fittings based on what they used in testing. It allows you to keep using your factory spindle which a lot of other kits force you to replace.
Gonna order the parts tomorrow.
